Gentili genitori,
Partendo dal presupposto che:
1) A Marzo 2019 la Famicord ha ritirato i tanks con le cellule presenti a Ginevra presso il laboratorio Cryo Save di Plan des Ouates.
2) Cryo Save ha proseguito nel sottoscrivere contratti e raccogliere altri campioni anche dopo Marzo fino ad Agosto.
3) l’ufficio federale della sanitá pubblica ci ha confermato che presso il laboratorio Cryo Save di Ginevra oggi non ci sono più cellule
La domanda a questo punto è: dove sono finite le cellule raccolte da aprile 2019 fino a Settembre 2019?
La risposta che possiamo dare è la seguente:
A) Una parte dovrebbe essere stata caricata “in reload” nei tanks che Famicord aveva portato in Svizzera al 24 giugno 2019.
B) Da informazioni raccolte tramite alcuni genitori (che ci hanno trasmesso i relativi documenti) a partire dal 24 Giugno 2019 qualcosa di strano pare sia accaduto.
A fronte di documenti che dichiarano (ai fini dell’autorizzazione all’espatrio) l’invio del sangue cordonale presso il laboratorio di Ginevra della Cryo Save, alcuni campioni (n.b.: quanti e se tutti quelli dei nati nel periodo non lo sappiamo)- ad insaputa dei genitori – sarebbero stati spediti in Portogallo.
Dove? Presso una società portoghese che non fornisce ad oggi alcuna informazione e risposta.
Alcuni genitori si sono accorti di questa situazione per caso, molti altri sono sicuramente all’oscuro . L’invito, per chi ha figli nati in quel periodo, è di verificare la situazione e, se ritenuto necessario, andare dai Carabinieri a denunciare la situazione.
Il motivo è presto detto.
Come ormai noto, il sangue cordonale, per poter essere criconservato deve essere elaborato per poter selezionare le cellule staminali. Tale elaborazione ha un costo e deve avvenire nel giro di poche ore dal prelievo originario.
Questo significa che se il sangue è stato inviato alla società portoghese. Questa dovrebbe aver avviato tali costose procedure. A spese di chi ? Chi ha pagato? E soprattutto: perché? (Ricordiamo che nel kit del 2019 vi era anche il sangue materno per qualsiasi test)
A parte i costi (cosa cmq rilevante). Se il sangue cordonale è stato processato e quello materno testato : chi le conserva ? Con quale numero di sacche? Dove? In forza di quale contratto? A che titolo? Chi si dovrebbe contattare per il rilascio in caso di necessità? Perchè sono finite in Portogallo? chi ha i dati di quei campioni ? chi li tratta? chi li gestisce? chi li conserva?
Tutto tace. Nessuno sa nulla. I genitori coinvolti non trovano risposte e di questo passo: mai le avranno.
i genitori dei bambini nati dopo il 24 giugno 2019 non hanno alcun interesse a stipulare contratti per proseguire la crioconservazione o valutare le verifiche a campione. Questi genitori non sanno neppure se il loro sangue è stato processato e possono anche concludere che a Varsavia, quel materiale, non potrebbe mai essere arrivato.
Pertanto crediamo che sia fondamentale affrontare la “vicenda Portogallo” .
Per farlo, serve la piena disponibilità dei genitori coinvolti.
Avete documenti sulla spedizione dei campioni inviati intorno al 24 giugno 2019, giorni e mesi successivi?
Dobbiamo far sapere ai genitori dei bambini nati tra Giugno, Luglio, Agosto, Settembre 2019 quello che potrebbe essere successo anche alle cellule dei loro figli. Perchè anche loro hanno, nel caso, diritto di sapere e poter decidere di fare eventualmente un salto nella caserma più vicina.
Probabilmente stiamo parlando anche di genitori europei (Quindi se qualcuno vuole tradurre questo articolo in varie lingue può inviarlo direttamente a portogallo@genitoristaminali.it)
Tutti i genitori cryo save dei nati da giugno 2019, se vogliono, sono invitati a verificare:
1) il numero di contratto attribuito e la data in cui è stato sottoscritto. (Per Italia siamo intorno al progresssivo finale 16.800 – 16.900) . Ricordatevi che esiste una differenza tra data del parto e data di sottoscrizione del contratto. Sapendo il numero di un contratto di giugno e di uno di agosto si è in grado di sapere quanti contratti sono stati stipulati in quel periodo. Se poi inviate questi dati cerchiamo di capire in questo modo il numero delle famiglie coinvolte.
2) esistenza di documenti in merito alla spedizione da parte del corriere ed al luogo di consegna reale.

Dear parents,
Assuming that:
1) In March 2019 Famicord collected the cells tanks stocked in Geneva at the Cryo Save laboratory of Plan des Ouates.
2) Cryo Save continued to sign contracts and collect other samples even after March, until August.3) The Federal Office of Public Health has confirmed to us that there are no more cells in Cryo Save Geneva laboratory
The question at this point is: where are the cells collected from April 2019 to September 2019?
The answer we can give is the following:
A) A part of them should had to be reloaded into the tanks that Famicord has brought to Switzerland in July. We can’t know “Which” and “how many” of these samples have been transferred to Poland to date.
B) By the information collected thanks to some parents (who sent us the documents), it seems that at June 2019 something strange has happened.
Despite the documents declare (for the export authorization) the shipment of the samples to the Geneva laboratory of Cryo Save, some samples (important: we don’t know “how many” samples or if all samples of the children born during this period) – without parents’ knowledge – have been sent to Portugal.
Where? At a Portuguese company which is not currently providing any information and response.
Some parents noticed this situation by accident, many others are certainly still in the dark about it. The invitation, for the parents of children born in this period, is to check the situation and, if necessary, go to the local Police station to report the situation.
The reason is clear.
As it is well known, the cord blood, in order to be criconserved, must be processed in order to select stem cells. This process has a cost and must take place within a few hours from the original explant.
This means that if the blood was sent to the Portuguese company, this company should have initiated such expensive procedures. Who paid? And above all: why? (Remember that in the 2019 kit, there was also maternal blood for any test)Apart from the costs (relevant anyway), if the cord blood has been processed and the maternal blood has been tested: Which is the number of blood sack? Where is it? Which contract regulates this activity? In whose name? Who should be contacted in case of need? Why they are in Portugal? who has the data of those samples? who treats them? who manages the sacks? who preserves them?
All is quiet. Nobody knows anything. The involved parents don’t find answers and, at that rate, they will never have them.
These parents have no interest to sign new contracts to continue cryopreservation or to procede with the sample checks. These parents don’t even know if their blood has been processed and they could even conclude that the material never arrived in Warsaw.
We therefore believe that it is essential to turn the spotlight on the “Portugal affair”.
To do this, we need the full availability of the parents involved. If these parents shouldn’t be interested in clarifying, who should it be?
Do you have documents on the shipment? Are you available to talk to the press and in front of a camera about what you found out about shipping? (N.b. We don’t accept “no” answer, because, if it is not important for you, at the end, it’s okay).We must let the parents of children born in June-September 2019 period know what have happened also to them.
Because they have, too, the right to know and to decide if report the situation to the nearest police station.
We are probably also talking about European parents (So, if someone wants to translate this article in various languages, he/she can send it directly to portogallo@genitoristaminali.it)
All cryo save parents of children born from June 2019, if they want, are invited to check:
1) the contract number and the date of its signature (For Italy we are around the final progressive 16,800 – 16,900). Remember that there is a difference between the delivery date and the contract signing date. Knowing the number of a contract in May and another one in August, we are able to know how many contracts were fi ally signed during that period. If we will receive these data, we will try to understand, by this way, the number of families involved.
2) the existence of documents regarding the shipment by the courier and the real place of delivery. All those who, in Italy or Europe, have documents certifying shipments to Portugal, are invited to immediately contact portogallo@genitoristaminali.it to give their availability to bring the matter to the media level as well.
